This is an old recipe. We did not have to cook the eggs back then. I modified the recipe to make it egg safe. Hope you like it. Ingredients:
3 (12 ounce) cans evaporated milk |
3 cups sugar |
6 eggs |
1 (3 ounce) strawberry jell-o gelatin dessert |
2 pints fresh strawberries, sliced |
Directions:
1. Mix milk, sugar, eggs and jello. 2. Heat mixture in double boiler until mixture reaches 160°F. 3. Cool. 4. Stir in fresh strawberries. 5. Pour into 1 gallon Icecream maker. 6. Process according to directions. |
