A lovely french dessert .......kirsch is german for cherry water a brandy that is clear in color and fruit flavor.............. courtesy of chef express Ingredients:
2 sheets puff pastry |
2 1/2- cups strawberries hulled and quartered |
3- tablespoons sugar |
2- tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice |
1- tablespoon kirsch |
2- cups thickened cream |
icing to decorate....... |
Directions:
1. Cut each sheet of puff pastry in half, then cut each half into 3 rectangles and place on a greased baking tray. 2. bake in mod hot oven 400 degrees f. for 10 minutes.cool on wire rack........... 3. place half the strawberries , the sugar and lemon juice in a medium saucepan and cook gently over moderately low heat for 10 minutes, stirring constantly. 4. when fruit is soft push through a sieve and discard pips 5. stir kirsch into puree' and set aside 6. whip cream until light and fluffy, fold in remaining strawberries and spread over 6 of the pastry leaves 7. top with remaining 6 pastry leaves...... 8. dust with icing sugar and serve in a pool of strawberry puree |
