Grandma Weed's recipe. She said to top it with a carmel frosting, but I haven't found that one yet. Guess I have some inventing to do. Ingredients:
2 eggs |
1 cup sugar |
1/2 cup butter |
1 cup crushed strawberries |
1 tsp soda |
1 1/2 cup flour |
Directions:
1. Cream together egg, sugar and butter
2. In another bowl, combine strawberries and soda. Add to the egg mixture. Mix well.
3. Add four. Mix well. Bake in greased pan for 40 min at 350 degrees
4. Auntybea's Carmel frosting:
5. 1 cup brown sugar
6. 3 tbsp. cream
7. 3 tbsp. butter
8. Melt first 3 ingredients and bring to a boil. Sift 1 cup icing sugar. Whisk icing sugar into melted mixture. Add some vanilla.
