I got this recipe from one of our local grocery stores-they were handing it out with samples and it was quite tasty! Definitely use a food processor or blender-I tried pureeing the strawberries and then using a hand mixer to combine it with the butter-not a good idea. Great on bagels! Ingredients:
1 pint fresh strawberries |
1/2 lb butter or 1/2 lb margarine, softened |
1/2 cup splenda sugar substitute or 1/2 cup sugar |
Directions:
1. Clean, rinse, hull strawberries and place into a medium sized food processor. Add splenda or sugar and blend until fairly smooth. Add butter or margarine and blend until you reach a creamy consistency. Place into glass dish, cover with plastic wrap, and chill. |
