Ingredients:
1 1/2 quarts fresh strawberries, washed, hulled, and halved |
1 cup sifted powdered sugar |
1 cup concord or other sweet red wine |
1 teaspoon grated lemon rind |
1 cup whipping cream |
2 tablespoons sugar |
Directions:
1. Place strawberry halves in a large bowl; sprinkle with powdered sugar. Combine wine and lemon rind; pour over strawberries. Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour. 2. Beat whipping cream until foamy; gradually add 2 tablespoons sugar, beating until soft peaks form. 3. Spoon strawberry mixture equally into 8 stemmed dessert glasses. Top with sweetened whipped cream. Serve immediately. |
