Ingredients:
4 cups fresh strawberries (about 1 pound), hulled, halved |
1/4 cup sugar |
2 cups banyuls dessert wine |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl; toss gently. Cover and macerate at room temperature for 2-3 hours. Strain juices into a small saucepan; return berries to bowl. Boil juices until syrupy, about 10 minutes. Let cool. Pour syrup over berries. 2. *At Bon Appétit, we prefer farm-fresh strawberries, but these recipes also bring out the best in supermarket varieties. |
