My mom's friend used to make this all the time for church suppers. It is so good. Ingredients:
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened |
1/3 cup sugar |
1/2 teaspoon almond extract |
1 cup whipping cream, whipped |
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips |
1 tablespoon shortening |
4 cups fresh strawberries, washed and hulled |
9 inches graham cracker crust |
Directions:
1. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy. 2. Gradually add sugar and almond extract. 3. Blend well. 4. Fold in whipping cream. 5. Spoon into pie crust (you can use a store bought pie crust, or make your own, of course it's easier to buy one). 6. Arrange strawberries on top and chill. 7. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt chocolate chips and shortening stirring constantly until smooth. 8. Drizzle over strawberries and filling. 9. Chill until set. |
