I can't think of a better name for this. Very simple but you do need to let it steep for at least 2-3 hours. Works well after a heavy meal. Use the best quality balsamic vinegar you can afford and good pouring cream. I generally prefer eating fruit at room temperature but this does taste good cold. A metric tablespoon = 4 teaspoons or 20ml Ingredients:
300 g strawberries |
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar |
1/4 cup caster sugar |
100 ml cream, pouring |
Directions:
1. Wash and hull strawberries and cut into quarters. 2. Sprinkle with sugar and vinegar, mix to coat the strawberries. 3. Cover and refrigerate for t least 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally. 4. Divide between 4 glass dishes drizzling over juice. 5. Pour over a generous amount of cream. |
