Strammer Max is a very quick and easy light dinner or lunch. Virtually translated it's Strapping Max, no idea, where that name comes from. But it's very common in Germany, usually with cooked ham and rye bread. I use prosciutto ( Trader Joe's German prosciutto works great ) and Acme's Whole Grain bread.
Ingredients:
1 sl bread, like rye or whole grain
1 ts olive oil
2 sl prosciutto or cooked ham
2 eggs
s+p
Directions:
1. Heat the olive oil in a frying pan and toast the bread on both sides, until lightly browned ( or toast in toaster ). Put the prosciutto or ham on the bread. Meanwhile, heat the butter in the frying pan and fry two eggs top your liking ( I prefer sunny side up, the yolk still runny. ) Season eggs with s+p and drop onto prosciutto. Serve at once.
