This is another recipe from our news paper, It is easy and tasty. Ingredients:
3 slices bacon, coarsely chopped |
1 medium onion, chopped |
2 cans (15 oz. each) van camp's pork and beans |
1/2 cup ketchup |
2 tbsp. spicy brown mustard |
Directions:
1. Cook bacon in medium saucepan over medium-high heat for 5 minutes, or until crisp, stirring occasionally. 2. Add onions: cook 3 minutes or until onions are crisp-tender. 3. Stir in beans, ketchup and mustard: bring to a boil.Reduce heat to low. Cook 20 minutes or until sauce is thickened, stirring occasionally. 4. NOTE... 5. OR, Use your oven: Preheat oven to 375. 6. Spray 2-quart casserole dish with pam spray. Prepare recipe as directed, except after bringing bean mixture to a boil, pour into prepard dish, cover. Bake 1 hour. 7. NOTE.... I changed mine a bit ,by adding 2 Tbsp. brown sugar,1 Tbsp.soy sauce and putting 4 raw bacon slices on top, instead of cooked bacon ,to recipe and baked 1 hour. |
