You Could easily use this method for a variety of veggies. Ingredients:
1.5 lbs green beans |
2 tbl dry sherry |
3-4 cloves garlic, minced |
2-3 tsp ginger, minced |
1/2 cup chicken-flavored stock |
2 t soy sauce |
1 t sherry |
couple drops sesame oil |
1 - 2 tsp cornstarch |
4 scallions, sliced |
Directions:
1. Blanch green beans in boiling water for 3 minutes. Drain, run under 2. cool water to stop cooking and pat dry. 3. Heat wok over medium high heat. Add sherry, garlic and ginger. Stir 4. for a few seconds. Add green beans and stir for a minute. Add stock, 5. soy sauce, sesame oil. Combine sherry and cornstarch. Add to wok. Stir. 6. Reduce to simmer and cook for another 3 minutes until sauce is 7. thickened. Stir in scallions and serve. |
