This is one of the ways I was taught to cook okra. It goes great with fried chicken and fried pork chops. Ingredients:
1 slice bacon, thick sliced, cut into pieces |
10 okra pods, sliced 1/2 inch |
1/2 teaspoon salt (to taste) |
1/4 teaspoon pepper (to taste) |
1/2 cup water |
Directions:
1. In a small frypan, cook bacon til almost crisp. Add okra and saute for about 2 minutes. Add water to pan, lower to low heat, cover and simmer for 10 minutes. |
