A quick desert of stewed apple and caramelized corn flakes Ingredients:
2 granny smith apples |
1 tablespoon sugar |
1/4 cup brown sugar |
1oz butter |
1 cup corn flakes |
Directions:
1. Peel, core and quarter the apples. Bring a little water to the boil in a saucepan, dissolve the sugar then add the apples. Simmer for 5-10 minutes or till soft. 2. Melt the butter in a saucepan over gentle heat, stir in the brown sugar to dissolve. Add the corn flakes stir to combine. 3. Lay the apples in a dish, cover with caramelized cornflakes and let to cool. Serve with cream or ice-cream. |
