Makes atleast 8 . This soft , fluffy steamed rice cakes are from south India and is a hot favourite with all the Indians . Ingredients:
1 c semolina / rava |
few roasted cashew nuts chopped |
1 tsp mustard seeds |
salt to taste |
1 tsp curry leaves chopped |
1 tsp green chillies chopped |
1 tsp ginger flakes |
1 tbsp chopped corriander leaves |
1 tsp ghee ( optional ) |
240 ml thick slightly sour yogurt / curd . |
Directions:
1. Mix rava everything in a bowl .... 2. Add the corriander leaves and 80 ml of the curd . 3. Mix well . 4. Heat ghee and add to the mixture. 5. Now add the 160 ml curd . Mix well . 6. Set aside for awhile until it is fully soaked . 7. Grease idli moulds and scoop the batter in ......... 8. or steam cook in small containers in a vegetable steamer until a pierced toothpick comes out clean . 9. Serve hot with mixed vegetable curry / sambar |
