Steamed Green Beans With Slivered Almonds |

Say good-bye to the Jolly Green Giant. You can make these fresh green beans so easy all by yourself. Ingredients:
2 pounds fresh green beans, trimmed and halved if desired |
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil |
1/4 cup slivered almonds |
1 tablespoon butter |
squeeze fresh lemon juice |
salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste |
Directions:
1. Steam the green beans until tender, about 10 to 15 minutes. Heat the oil in a saute pan and add the almond slivers. Saute over medium heat until lightly browned. about 2 minutes. Add the green beans and butter. Turn of the heat and give it a squeeze of lemon juice. Toss together and season to taste with salt and pepper. 2.
