Steamed Beef With Cream of Rice |

This is from the Diana Liu cookbook. I haven't tried this yet but it sounds rather interesting. Ingredients:
1 lb beef, sliced 2-inch x 1-inch x 1/8-inch |
4 tablespoons soy sauce |
2 tablespoons sherry wine |
1 tablespoon cornstarch |
1/4 teaspoon ground aniseed |
1 cup cream of rice |
3/4 cup brown sugar |
parsley, for garnishing |
Directions:
1. Marinate beef in soy sauce, sherry, and cornstarch for 10 minutes. 2. Mix cream of rice cereal, brown sugar and ground anise. 3. Coat beef with cream of rice mixture. 4. Place meat in a bowl; place bowl in steamer. 5. Steam 2 hours. 6. Garnish with parsley. 7. Serve hot. 8. Note: I have no idea how many this serves so I'm guessing maybe 6 as part of a chinese meal. |
