Comfort food. Ingredients:
1 medium onion, thinly sliced |
1 tablespoon salad oil |
2 beef cube steaks |
2 tablespoons flour |
1 tablespoon salad oil |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 cup sour cream |
1 (2 ounce) can mushroom stems and pieces |
Directions:
1. In 8-inch skillet, cook and stir onion in 1 tablespoon oil until tender, about 4 minutes. 2. Remove from skillet and set aside. 3. Coat steaks with flour. Heat 2 tablespoons oil in same skillet; cook steaks over medium heat, about 4 minutes on each side. 4. Sprinkle with salt. 5. Place steaks on warm platter or dinner plates. 6. Drain fat from skillet. Add onion, sour cream and mushrooms (with liquid) to skillet; heat, stirring ocassionally. 7. Serve sauce on steaks. 8. Good on hot buttered egg (2 cups dry) noodles with a dash of parsley flakes mixed inches. |
