This soup is so hearty it can be a meal all by itself . Freeze half for later. I also like to make it in the crockpot. Ingredients:
11/2 lean ground beef |
2 cups diced onions |
1 cup diced carrots |
1 cup diced celery |
1 tbs mined garlic |
3 cans chicken broth |
1 can (16 oz.) crushed tomatoes |
2 tbs worcestershire sauce |
1 tsp red pepper sauce |
salt & pepper to taste |
Directions:
1. Brown ground beef in dutch over over medium heat. 2. Add onions, carrots, celery, garlice. 3. Cook 10 to 12 minutes until veggies are softened. 4. Add chicken broth, crushed, tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, red pepper sauce and salt and pepper. 5. Bright to boil, reduce heat , cover and simmer 15 minutes. 6. Meanwhile, melt 1/4 c. butter or margarine in small saucepan; stir in 1/2 c. flour. 7. Cook over medium high, stirring, until deep brown. 8. Whish into soupe; cover and simmer 15 minutes more. |
