I've been making this since I found it in a small community cookbook about 12 years ago. It's easy and it's very good! Ingredients:
1 lb round steak, cut in 3 inch pieces |
1/4 cup flour |
2 tablespoons shortening |
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can beefy mushroom soup |
2 tablespoons steak sauce |
1 teaspoon garlic salt |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
1 green pepper, cut in strips |
1 small onion, sliced |
2 tomatoes, cut in wedges |
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese |
Directions:
1. Coat steak with flour; brown in shortening for 4 minutes each side. 2. Place in baking pan. 3. Mix soup, steak sauce, garlic salt, and pepper. 4. Pour over steak. 5. Add green pepper, onion and tomato. 6. Top with cheese. 7. Cover and bake at 350°F for 1 hour. |
