This is a delicious tasting casserole dish, one that I make quite often, I have even replaced the beef with pork, either way it is great meal, I serve it on top of pasta, don't leave out the red wine, it just doesn't have the same taste! Ingredients:
2 lbs sirloin steaks |
1/3 cup flour |
salt and pepper |
1 tablespoon mustard powder |
2 -3 tablespoons olive oil |
3 cups sliced mushrooms |
1 medium onion, sliced |
2 -3 cloves fresh minced garlic (optional) |
1/4-1/3 cup dry red wine |
3 tablespoons brown sugar |
1 1/2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce |
1 (19 ounce) can tomatoes, chopped |
Directions:
1. Set oven to 350 degrees. 2. Grease a large casserole dish. 3. Cut beef into bite-sized cubes. 4. Combine flour, salt, pepper and dry mustard powder. 5. Toss beef cubes in the flour mixture to coat. 6. Heat oil in a frypan. 7. Brown beef cubes on all sides. 8. Place browned beef cubes in a casserole dish. 9. Add all remaining ingredients. 10.
