In our town we have a doughnut shop called The Spudnut Shop..... Everyone wants Spudnuts...These little jewels are delicious... Ingredients:
1 pkg yeast |
1/4 cup warm water |
1 cup scalded milk |
1/4 cup shortening |
1/4 cup sugar |
1 teaspoon salt |
3/4 cup mashed potatoes |
2 eggs, beaten |
5 to 6 cups sifted flour |
icing |
1 box powdered sugar |
6 tablespoons water |
1 tablespoon vanilla |
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients together and let rise. 2. Work down and roll out dough. 3. Cut out with doughnut cutter 4. Fry in Deep fat, then glaze with icing |
