3 1/2 cups flour |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1 1/2 cups butter or 1 1/2 cups margarine |
1 cup sugar |
1 large egg |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1/2 teaspoon almond extract (optional) |
Directions:
1. Stir together flour and baking powder. 2. Beat butter for 30 seconds; add sugar and beat until fluffy. 3. Add egg, vanilla and almond extract; beat well. 4. Gradually add dry ingredients to beaten mixture, beating till well combined. 5. Do not chill. 6. Force dough through a cookie press onto an ungreased cookie sheet. If desired, sprinkle with colored sugars or with ground almonds dyed red or green with food coloring. 7. Bake in a 400° oven for 7-8 minutes. 8. Cool on wire rack. |
