This salad has been made by the women in my family for generations. The simplicity brings out the freshness of the lettuce and the sweetness of the cream. Once you’ve had it, you’ll think about it every time your first spring lettuce is coming up! Read more ! Ingredients:
salad bowl full of new leafy lettuce leaves |
1/2 of a large red onion, sliced thinly into 1/2 rings |
1/2 cup cream |
2 tbsp. sugar |
1 tbsp. vinegar |
Directions:
1. Toss the onion with the lettuce. Combine the cream, sugar and vinegar and pour over lettuce and onions. Toss and serve. You may want to taste this before you salt and pepper it. I like the fresh taste and find that salt and pepper mars that. |
