A classic candy. Great plain or dipped in chocolate. Ingredients:
1 cup brown sugar |
1 cup dark corn syrup |
1 tablespoon vanilla |
1 tablespoon baking soda |
chocolate, melted |
Directions:
1. In a large, heavy saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup and vanilla. 2. Bring to boil over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves. 3. Cook, without stirring, to 290-300°F. 4. Remove from heat. 5. Quickly stir in baking soda. 6. Mix well. 7. Turn into a deep, buttered 9 x 13-inch pan. 8. Cool, then break into pieces. 9. Dip into melted chocolate. |
