1 cup = 147 cals = 1 serving stew like soup! Ingredients:
49 oz chicken broth, swanson |
16 oz split peas, green or yellow |
1 large potato, diced |
1 large onion, finely chopped |
3 large carrots, shredded |
1 cup celery, thinly sliced |
8 cups water, add more as needed |
1 tbs garlic, fresh and spice to taste |
16 oz tomatoes, crushed |
1 oz lean ham, smoked finely slivered |
Directions:
1. spice to taste, bring to boil and simmer on low heat until all tender, about 1 hour. 2. Will be more like stew although water may be added as preferred. 3. May substitute low sodium or sodium free broth. |
