My favorite growing up!! Ingredients:
1/2 lb split peas (lentils are good also) |
1 ham hock |
1 minced carrot |
1 minced celery |
1 minced onion |
Directions:
1. Place all ingredients in a pot and fill with lots of water. Boil, boil, boil. 2. Watch carefully and stir. 3. As the peas start to thicken, add a little water. It helps to cook - but not too much water or it will be too thin. |
