Ingredients:
1 small onion, diced |
1 tablespoon vegetable oil |
4 cups water |
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can chicken broth |
1 1/2 cups dried split peas, rinsed |
1 cup cubed fully cooked ham |
3 bay leaves |
1 1/2 teaspoons salt |
1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary |
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
Directions:
1. In a large saucepan, saute onion in oil until tender. 2. Add remaining ingredients. 3. Bring to a boil; reduce heat. 4. Cover and simmer for 1 hour or until peas are tender. 5. Discard bay leaves. |
