Split Pea Chicken Barley Soup

My own twist with chicken instead of ham and barley instead of rice.
Ingredients:
2 c shredded chicken
1 c dry split peas
3 c frozen vegetables
2 tbsp parsley, fresh
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1/4 tsp pepper
7 c water
2 c chicken broth
1/2 c quaker medium barley
Directions:
1. In a slow cooker, combine all ingredients.
2. Cover; cook low for 10-12 hours or high 4-5 hours.
3. Cover; let stand 10 minutes.
