Split Pea and Smoked Turkey Soup |

The smoked turkey makes all the difference. Ingredients:
2 cups dried split yellow peas |
2 cups chopped smoked turkey |
1 1/2 cups shredded carrots |
1 cup chopped chives |
1 garlic clove, minced |
1 teaspoon dried basil |
1 teaspoon dried oregano |
5 cups chicken broth |
2 cups water |
1/2 cup dried tomatoe |
Directions:
1. Rinse split peas, drain. 2. Combine everything in slow cooker, except tomatoes. 3. Cook on low for 7 hours. 4. Last ten minutes, stir in tomatoes and let stand for 10 minutes. |
