This is a German recipe for cookies that have been made in my family for generations. It is a family favorite and I hope all will enjoy it! Ingredients:
3 1/4 cup flour |
1 1/4 cup of granulated sugar |
2 cups ground almonds |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 cup of real butter (i am not sure if you can substitute this one) |
10 ounce jar of raspberry jam |
wax paper |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Mix one cup of sugar, melted butter, almonds, and vanilla. 3. Slowly stir in flour one teaspoon at a time. 4. Lay out wax paper and dust with flour. 5. Knead dough very well. 6. Roll dough into about 1/8 thickness. 7. Cut the dough with a cookie cutter until all the dough is used. 8. Place cookies on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until a light golden brown. 9. While still warm, roll in remaining granulated sugar and spread jam between two cookies. 10. Allow to cool. 11. These are best served within 12 hours of baking! |
