Spinach & Sausage Florentine Soup/Pasta

This is a very hearty delicious meal. Easy to make and also feeds a crowd. My daughter Kelly actually made this for us the 1st time. We have made this many times now with rave reviews! Thank you Kelly!
Ingredients:
32 ounces chicken broth
1/2 onion (sliced thin)
1 (16 ounce) package pork sausage
4 minced garlic cloves
1 (10 ounce) box frozen spinach (or bag of fresh)
1 pint grape tomatoes (sliced in 1/2)
1 (16 ounce) box cooked pasta (suggest tri-color rotini)
1/2 cup margarine or 1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon salt (for pasta water)
Directions:
1. Brown sausage in a large deep fry pan.
2. Add onion & garlic; cook for a few minutes.
3. Add grape tomatoes; cook for 3 minutes longer.
4. Add chicken broth with butter; stir till melted.
5. Add spinach (ripped in pieces if fresh); bring to boil.
6. Stir in parmesan & then pasta; bring to boil, then turn off.
7. Serve immediately adding addition additional Parmesan cheese to each individual bowl as desired.
