I have read lots of recipes for spinach dip and they are pretty much the same, but I like mine as it is cooked. I get request for it all the time.. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Ingredients:
1 onion |
2 cups mayonnaise |
8 ounces frozen chopped spinach |
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes |
1/2 cup parmesan cheese |
Directions:
1. Dice 1 onion in very small pieces and cook till clear. 2. add 1/2 teaspoon of crushed red pepper. 3. add 8 ounces chopped spinach that has been thawed and chopped into small pieces. 4. (HINT: I take the chopped spinach from the freezer and hit it with my rolling pin. It crushes it into tiny pieces) 5. cook till spinach is heated completely. 6. add 1/2 cup parmesan cheese , stir and remove from heat (taste, as you may like more, I like it lightly flavored). 7. after it has cooled a bit, I add 2 cups of mayo, or 1 cup or mayo and 1 cup sour cream {It is great either way.} 8. season as you would like. I put garlic powder at times and also horseradish to make it a bit different. 9. AS you make this recipe you will change it up as you go. It is a great begining to a great dip! Enjoy! |
