I think this is just a great idea to blend the flavors a little. You can put the dressing on and toss or just leave it on the side for each individual to serve. Either way it is very enjoyable. Ingredients:
bag of baby spinach |
bag of shredded cabbage ( any kind of cut that you fancy) |
shredded carrots, as many or as few as you like |
mixed nuts |
dressing |
1/2 c. catsup |
1/3 c. sugar (splenda) |
1/3 c. canola oil |
1/4 c. white wine vinegar |
1 t. paprika ( i have smoked paprika that tastes good) |
2 or 3 cloves garlic ( pressed or minced ) |
Directions:
1. Toss the first 4 ingredients together. If I don't have mixed nuts I've used almonds, walnuts, cashews and / or pecans. I like most any nut. 2. Mix together the rest of the ingredients. I try to remember to make the dressing in advance so the flavors meld together. I think this is fun and hope you all enjoy it as much as I do. |
