Spinach and Garbanzo Bean Soup

Ingredients:
4 slices bacon, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
1 (14 ounce) can chopped tomatoes
1 (14 ounce) can chicken broth
1 (15 ounce) can garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained
1 lb fresh spinach, washed and chopped
4 scallions, chopped
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Directions:
1. In a large saucepan, cook bacon, onion and garlic over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until bacon renders its fat and onion begins to brown, 5 minutes.
2. Add cumin and allspice, and cook, stirring, 1 minute.
3. Add tomatoes and chicken broth, cook 5 minutes.
4. Add garbanzo beans, spinach, scallions, worchestershire, and pepper. Bring to a boil.
5. Reduce heat to low, cover and cook, 30 minutes.
