Spicy Wine Roast for Slow Cookers |

This recipe came from my boss who brought it to a potluck. We have used this recipe for years and love it. This is a good way to use tougher cuts of beef. Just a note though, shredding the beef instead of cutting makes a better sandwich. Ingredients:
3 -4 lbs beef roast |
salt and pepper |
1 medium onion |
2 (24 g) packages beef gravy |
2 cups water |
1/2 cup ketchup |
3/4-1 cup dry red wine |
3 teaspoons dijon mustard |
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce |
1 teaspoon garlic powder |
Directions:
1. Sprinkle meat with salt and pepper. 2. Place in slow-cooker. 3. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over meat. 4. Cover and cook 8-10 hours on low. 5. Remove meat, shred or slice and return to gravy. 6. Serve with dinner buns. |
