Spicy Vegan Gingerbread Cookies |

This is a modified version of a gingerbread recipe that I found in one of my mom's old cookbooks. It's spicy, sweet, and super yummy! Ingredients:
1/2 cup brown sugar |
1/4 cup margarine (softened) |
3/4 cup dark molasses |
1/3 cup cold water |
3 1/2 cups whole wheat flour |
2 teaspoons baking soda |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon allspice |
1 teaspoon clove |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
Directions:
1. Mix all of the ingredients. 2. Cover and refrigerate for about an hour and a half to two hours. 3. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees (f). 4. Roll out to 1/4 thick on a lightly floured surface, and use cookie cutters to cut the dough. 5. Place the cookies on a greased pan, and bake for ten to twelve minutes, until you can touch the cookies without leaving an indentation. |
