A spicier variation on my grilled shrimp. :) Ingredients:
2 lbs shrimp, raw |
3/4 olive oil, extra virgin |
1 medium onion, grated |
2 tablespoons lemon juice |
1/8 teaspoon oregano |
1/8 teaspoon basil |
1/8 teaspoon clove, ground |
1/2 teaspoon celery seed |
1/2 teaspoon chili powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 bay leaf |
1 clove, whole |
1 1/2 cups chili sauce |
1/2 cup tomato juice |
1/2 teaspoon chili powder |
1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce |
1/4 teaspoon tabasco sauce |
1 garlic clove, smashed |
1/4 cup dry white wine |
1 tablespoon lemon juice |
Directions:
1. A day or two before mix BBQ sauce ingredients together simmering for about an hour. When cooled place in lidded jar and refrigerate. 2. Day of BBQ: mix marinade ingredients, add shrimp and let marinate for at least 2 hours. longer is better if you have the time. 3. grill over med heat for 8 - 10 minutes or until done. Turn 1/2 way through cooking. 4. serve with sauce. |
