Flavored with a heady blend of cayenne, sage, and cinnamon, this snack sets the stage for the offerings to come. Prep and Cook Time: 35 minutes. Notes: Make nuts up to 1 week ahead; store airtight at room temperature. Ingredients:
1 large egg white |
2 tablespoons honey |
1 tablespoon sesame seeds |
4 teaspoons dried rubbed sage |
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/4 teaspoon cayenne |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 3/4 cups party (salted) peanuts |
1 3/4 cups pecan halves |
1 cup pine nuts |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 300°. In a bowl, whisk egg white until frothy; whisk in honey, sesame seeds, sage, cinnamon, cayenne, and salt. Add nuts and stir. Divide mixture between two large nonstick or parchment-lined baking pans and spread into an even layer. 2. Bake, stirring often with a wide spatula, until nuts are golden and fragrant, 20 to 25 minutes. To prevent sticking, turn mixture often with spatula as it cools. Serve warm or cool. 3. Note: Nutritional analysis is per serving. |
