Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups butter or margarine, softened |
1 cup sugar |
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar |
2 eggs |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 cup buttermilk |
4 cups all-purpose flour |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg |
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger |
1 cup chopped raisins |
1 cup chopped pecans |
Directions:
1. Cream butter in a large mixing bowl; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy, Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. 2. Dissolve soda in buttermilk; add to creamed mixture, beating until well blended. 3. Sift together flour, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger; add to creamed mixture, stirring until well blended. Stir in raisins and pecans. 4. Drop dough by teaspoonfuls 4 inches apart onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 425° for 6 to 8 minutes. Cool slightly on cookie sheets. Remove from cookie sheets, and cool completely on wire racks. |
