A healthier version of French Fries, the combination of sweet potatoes and turnips is a taste treat - even if you don't normally care for turnips. The combination makes a great sidedish to serve with pork tenderloin, if the vegetables are cut into chunks and baked. I've never tried adding garlic powder, but. . . Ingredients:
1 large sweet potato |
1 large turnip |
1 teaspoon chili powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
2 tablespoons olive oil |
Directions:
1. Peel and cut the sweet potato and turnip into 1/4 strips. 2. Place in a bowl and sprinkle with the combined salt, chili powder and olive oil, turning to coat thoroughly. 3. Spread in one layer on a foil-lined cookie sheet with sides. 4. Bake 375 degrees, 12-15 minutes. Turn and bake an additional 12-15 minutes. Test to make sure they are cooked through. |
