A friend of mine brought these cookies to a square dance several years ago and was nice enough to write out the recipe for me. I have no idea where she got it, but, I've made them for years and they are just so tasty. Ingredients:
2 cups sugar |
1 cup shortening |
4 eggs |
3 cups oatmeal |
1 cup chocolate chips |
2 teaspoons baking soda |
1 cup milk |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon clove |
2 teaspoons cinnamon |
2 teaspoons vanilla |
5 cups flour |
Directions:
1. Mix ALL ingredients together, thoroughly. 2. I like to mix this in my Kitchen Aide Mixer. 3. Drop by rounded Tbsp onto greased cookie sheets. 4. These cookies rise as opposed to spreading out. 5. Bake in a pre-heated 400 degree oven, 12-15 minutes. 6. Remove to wire rack to cool. 7. Enjoy! |
