For easy cleanup, line baking sheets with parchment paper. Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour |
2 teaspoons baking soda |
1 1/4 teaspoons ground cinnamon |
3/4 teaspoon ground ginger |
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg |
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves |
1/8 teaspoon salt |
1/3 cup butter, softened |
1 cup packed dark brown sugar |
1 large egg |
2 tablespoons molasses |
2 1/2 tablespoons granulated sugar |
cooking spray |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°. 2. Lightly spoon flour into dry measuring cups; level with a knife. Combine flour, baking soda, and next 5 ingredients in a medium bowl. 3. Beat butter with a mixer at medium speed until creamy; gradually add 1 cup brown sugar, beating well. Add egg and molasses; beat well. Add flour mixture; beat until smooth. (Dough will be slightly crumbly.) 4. Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Roll balls in 2 1/2 tablespoons sugar. Place balls 1 1/2 inches apart on baking sheets coated with cooking spray. Bake at 350° for 8 minutes. Cool 2 minutes on pans. Remove from pans; cool completely on wire racks. |
