Hot and zesty mixture of nuts... Ingredients:
1 large egg white |
1 tablespoon water |
8 oz pecans (2 cups) |
8 oz salted cashews (2 cups) |
1/2 cup sugar |
2 teaspoons coarse salt |
1 1/4 teaspoons cayenne pepper |
1 tsp cinnamon |
1 tablespoon ground cumin |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees. 2. In a bowl, mix egg whites and the water until blended. 3. Stir in nuts. 4. Add remaining ingredients; mix well. 5. Spread nut mixture in a single layer in a jelly-roll pan. 6. Bake for 40 minutes; stir. 7. Reduce heat to 200 degrees and bake for 30 minutes longer. 8. With a fork loosen nuts from pan. 9. Cool 10. This makes 4 cups of nuts. |
