Sometimes the most basic dishes are the most special. Red pepper flakes, garlic and lemon juice simply season Swiss chard for a quick-and-easy side from our home economists. Ingredients:
2 pounds swiss chard, chopped |
2 teaspoons olive oil |
3 garlic cloves, minced |
1 tablespoon lemon juice |
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes |
1/8 teaspoon salt |
Directions:
1. In a Dutch oven, saute chard in oil for 3-5 minutes or just until wilted. 2. Stir in the garlic, lemon juice, pepper flakes and salt; cover and cook 2-3 minutes longer or until tender. Yield: 6 servings. |
