Spicy Gingerbread Squares

Here's still another good gingerbread recipe. Can't have too many gingerbread recipes. Leave out the orange peel if you don't have any.
Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp ground ginger
1 1/2 tsp ground cardamom
1 tsp ground allspice
1 tbsp grated orange peel
3 eggs
1/2 cup light molasses
1 cup buttermilk
1 stick butter, melted
Directions:
1. Stir together first 8 ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
2. Put eggs in your mixer bowl and beat with mixer until they are thick and foamy.
3. Keep the mixer running and add the molasses in a stream, then the buttermilk.
4. Add half of the wet mixture to the dry ingredients and blend well with a spoon.
5. Add the rest of the wet mixture in two more parts, beting well by hand after each addition.
6. Gradually add the melted butter and beat with a spoon until your batter is blended and smooth.
7. Pour into 8 inch square baking pan and bake in preheated 350 oven
8. 45 to 50 minutes.
