Came up with these when serving my Potato-Leek-Mushroom Soup this weekend. Yum! Would be great over salad as well. Ingredients:
1/2 loaf day old bread, such as ciabatta |
1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil (more to taste) |
2 garlic cloves, minced |
1 teaspoon tabasco sauce |
salt |
pepper |
Directions:
1. Rough cut bread into 1/2-inch cubes. 2. Place in large bowl. 3. Whisk garlic, oil, Tabasco, salt and pepper in small bowl. 4. Let stand 10-15 minutes. 5. Heat oven to 450°F. 6. Pour oil mixture over bread and toss to thoroughly coat. 7. Spread evenly on cookie sheet. 8. Bake for 7-10 minutes. 9. Toss to turn cubes. 10. Bake an additional 7-10 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. 11. These go great over salad or my Potato, Leek, Mushroom Soup (Potato-Leek-Mushroom Soup). 12. Enjoy! |
