Ingredients:
1 lb lean ground beef |
1 cup salsa |
3/4 cup water |
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste |
1/2 lb hot dog, sliced into chunks |
1 tablespoon mild chili powder |
1/2 teaspoon cumin |
1 (6 1/2 ounce) package corn muffin mix |
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese |
1 (4 1/2 ounce) can chopped green chilies |
1/3 cup milk |
1 egg, lightly beaten |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. 2. Grease a 2-quart casserole and set aside. 3. Thoroughly cook ground beef in a large skillet; drain away all excess fat. 4. Stir in the water, tomato paste, chili powder, cumin, and hot dogs, mixing well. 5. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat and simmer until mixture thickens alightly. 6. Pour filling into casserole dish. 7. Mix all ingredients for the topping in a mixing bowl until just blended, then spoon over topping, spreading equally. 8. Bake in preheated oven 15-20 minutes or until the topping is nicely browned. |
