Yummy. I make this about once a month and everyone loves it. It's very filling so we often eat it as a main course with a small salad, but it's also good served as a side with soups, chilis and stews. Enjoy Ingredients:
1 pound ground sirloin |
16 ounce jar chunky hot salsa |
2 teaspoons crushed red pepper |
1 tablespoon black pepper |
2 large chilies chopped |
2 cups three cheese blend |
4 packages corn bread mix |
Directions:
1. Cook two packages of the corn bread mix according to package directions and cook completely. 2. Brown ground meat then add pepper, salsa, chilies and crushed red pepper and simmer 6 minutes to allow spices to cook together. 3. Layer meat, cheese and spices over cooked bread. 4. Prepare remaining 2 packages of cornbread according to package directions and pour over meat and cheese mixture. 5. Bake in preheated 375 oven for 40 minutes. |
