Flaky, hot and buttery bread sticks with little bits of melting cheese. Ingredients:
1 sheet puff pastry (2 come in a box) |
1/2 cup finely shredded cheddar cheese |
1 tablespoon sesame seeds |
1 tablespoon poppy seed |
1 teaspoon fennel seed |
1 teaspoon kosher salt |
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper |
flour, for rolling out dough |
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees, prepare a sheetpan with parchment or a silpat. 2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the sheet of puff pastry until it is quite thin. 3. In a small bowl, mix together all of the seeds and spices. 4. Sprinkle them over the dough. 5. Using a rolling pin, roll them into the dough. 6. Sprinkle the cheese over the dough. 7. Roll the cheese into the dough. 8. Slice the Dough into 8 even strips. 9. Twist from both ends of each dough strip so that the dough spirals into a breadstick. 10. Lay them on a sheetpan lined with parchment or a silpat. 11. Bake the breadsticks for 15 minutes until golden. 12. Let cool for a moment then transfer to a tall glass and fan out to serve. |
