Spicy Cheese And Beer Soup |

Nothing beats a hot bowl of soup on a cold winter day... I serve with pumpernickel bread Ingredients:
2 tbls. butter |
1 onion, finely chopped |
1 carrot, shredded |
2 cups milk |
1/4 cup flour |
1 1/2 cups sharp american cheese, shredded |
1 can(12oz.) beer |
1 cup cabbage, shredded |
1/2 lb. linguica, cut into bite size pieces |
Directions:
1. Melt butter in saucepan 2. Add onion, carrot, and cabbage and cook until tender 3. Whisk together milk and flour 4. Stir into onion mixture 5. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thick and bubbly(about 5 minutes) 6. Over low heat, add cheese gradually, stirring constantly (DO NOT BOIL) 7. Stir in beer and linguica 8. Heat through |
